I have been receiving a number of inquiries about when exam results will be available for students that have been completing their studies and finally taking the exams, in some cases months later than anticipated due to pandemic restrictions. The short answer is that there is no simple answer, right now. There are some guidelines (listed below), but the offices in London where all of the exams are processed, are not fully staffed and many of the WSET personnel are still working remotely.
I have received some basic guidelines from WSET on expectations for the results to be sent, but you should please understand that the time frames listed below are from when WSET receives the papers and they are processed in London, not from the exam date. Level 1: 2 weeks from the date of the confirmation receipt email Level 2: 2 weeks from the date of the confirmation receipt email Level 3: 6 to 8 weeks from the date of the confirmation receipt email For those who sat their exams on August 1, in Hartford, the "date of confirmation" was actually August 24th. This is due to the fact that all exam papers are handed off to the WSET offices in Hartford on the Thursday following the exam, they are assembled and shipped to London by courier, and are then processed for receipt. Based on the info above, it looks like that process takes about three weeks in total. I know this makes for a longer wait period, but there is really nothing that can be done about this situation; your patience is greatly appreciated. As for the turn-around on Remote Exams, WSET has not released a lot of guidance on this front, but I would assume that the turn-around time will be a bit shorter than the paper exams. Other questions related to this involve the question about whether WSET will forward certificates and pins for successful candidates - the answer again lies in the fact that not many people are not currently working at the WSET home offices in London, where the certificates are created and mailed from. The only guidance on this front has been to tell as that certificates will be mailed once personnel can return to the London headquarters and get them processed. Again, I understand this could be a little frustrating for some, but I do get the results and have been notifying candidates as they come in. If you are successful, then you do not need a certificate or pin to validate your success, and you may start to use the post-noms associated with your level of completion. Please feel free to continue to reach out regarding your exam results, or with any other questions. I am happy to review and guide to the best of my ability, just please understand that the Covid-crisis is a global issue and people and businesses are affected globally. I may not have the answer immediately, but will endeavor to findthe answer for you as quickly as possible. Thanks, BMitch
