WINE BOOKS
Here you will find the collection of wine focused books that I have assembled over the years. Some are newer editions and some are older and out-of-print, but I try to keep the list as up-to-date as possible, simply because I use it as a reference to make sure not to buy duplicates. If available, the image to the left will be an active link to the product page on Amazon.com.
This list does not include my library of books dealing with the technical side of Viticulture and Vinification - those are listed on this page Viti / Vini .

Hugh Johnson's Pocket Guide to Wine Book - 2023 edition
released Oct 11, 2023 in the US By Margaret Rand See our review of this book via this link One of the best annual publications in the wine world, and a great selection for anyone looking to have guidance on what to shop for and hopefully discover new wines, regions and producers. Intro is always well worth the read, as well. |
The Dirty Guide to Wine: Following Flavor from Ground to Glass
by Alice Feiring / Countryman Press Picked this up on my last trip in France (although easily available here) as I needed a read for the plane ride home. Great detail about the broader category of natural wine and what that really means, globally. |
Flawless: Understanding Faults in Wine
by Jamie Goode This is the latest book from Jamie Goode, one of the best writers on wine, but from an educational point of view about the structure and science of wine, rather than simply reviewing specific wines or regions. I own several of his book and use them regularly. |
The Sommelier's Atlas of Taste: A Field Guide to the Great Wines of Europe
by Rajat Parr and Jordan Mackay / Ten Speed Press This may be one of the most important books in my library. I used this daily while studying for the Advanced CMS exam, as well as a refresher before travelling to Burgundy and other places. Pretty much a must have, IMO. |
