POLICIES REGARDING
REGISTRATION,
SHIPPING and
CANCELLATION

Please be aware that all course dates, locations, and prices are subject to change. Check the website details often for any changes or updates.

Registration: For most classroom courses, students must register at least two weeks (14 days) before the course begins, provided there are seats remaining. For registration requests done less than two weeks prior to the start of a course, the registration will only be done at the discretion of NEWA. For most online courses, students must register 10 business days before the start date. For registration requests less than 10 days prior to the start of an online course, please contact NEWA to determine if the registration is possible. In either case - we will make every attempt to get a student’s request for a class or seminar fulfilled, but registration will be done only at the discretion of NEWA.

Cancellation, Refunds & Rescheduling Policies
NEWA retains the right to determine the amount, if any, of all course refunds and/or course credits.

Booking Terms & Conditions for Non-WSET Classes or Seminars
For most classroom courses, no refunds will be given once a course begins.  For online courses, no refunds will be given under any circumstances. For other classroom courses, any refunds given will exclude the cost of study materials if they have already been provided to the student. Shipping fees are not refundable, and any return shipping fees will be deducted from the amount of the refund.

If you cancel more than 7 days prior to the class or course start date, you may request a full refund. If you cancel 7 days or less prior to the class or course start date, you may request a refund less a 20% cancellation fee. Please note that this does not apply to WSET courses. There are no refunds within 7 days of a WSET course start date. If you cancel any class or course within 48-hours of its scheduled start time, no refunds will apply.

If you wish to reschedule instead of receiving a refund, you may request to be rescheduled to another session with no penalty, as long as the request is made 7 days prior to the class or course beginning. If you reschedule 7 days or less prior to the class or course start date, you may request a credit less a 20% rescheduling fee. Rescheduling is not possible within 48-hours of a class or course start time.

Booking Terms & Conditions for WSET Classes or Seminars
  • The return of a booking form is to register your interest for the course only.
  • Your place is not confirmed in any class and your study pack will not be sent until full payment has been received.
  • Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come/first serve basis based on payment processing via our online booking form.
  • Exam bookings cannot be accepted any later than 15 working / business days before the scheduled course exam date.
  • The student must provide personal information to receive the study pack and the final WSET certificate and to book a course. Every change/update in the personal data must be communicated to New England Wine Academy.
  • For all WSET exams, please note that all exam fees are forfeited when a student is registered for the exam with the WSET. There are no cancellations or refunds on WSET examinations once the exam order has been submitted to the WSET. Students will need to register for a later exam date, if they find themselves unable to sit for an exam for which they are scheduled. In most cases an additional fee will be applied for rescheduling.
  • Exam date change requests made 7 day or more from the exam date, may be done without incurring a fee.
  • Exam date changes requests made less than 7 days from the exam date, will incur a rescheduling fee. Fees are dependant upon the specific course / exam, and will be handled on a case by case basis, depending on the specific course and the type invigilation process (remote or in-person).
  • NEWA reserves the right either to change the date of a course or cancel a course if the minimum required number of students is not reached. Alternative dates will be notified 14 days prior to the planned start date of the original course. Any enrolment fee that was paid by the student will be transferred to the new course with no additional charge. In cases where the new date is unviable for the student, the entire course fee will be refunded in full by New England Wine Academy.
  • No student is allowed to sit the examination without having attended the related course. The only exception to this rule will be online students.
  • On the day of the WSET exam, the student must provide an ID‐card or passport with personal photograph. If not, the student will not be allowed to sit the examination.

The student must read and understand the class or seminar Specification available on www.newenglandwineacademy.com under each course section.  If there is a question regarding any course detail, please ask before booking.

On occasion, the New England Wine Academy will offer a course or seminar for which the above “Cancellation, Refunds & Rescheduling Policies” does not apply. In those instances, the registration page for the class or course will reflect the modified policy for that specific event.

Shipping:  Anything shipped by New England Wine Academy is the responsibility of the receiver.  All materials will be shipped by New England Wine Academy using a trackable method.  Once delivery is confirmed to the address given it is the receivers responsibility to ensure that it gets safely to them from the point of delivery.
