The academy News

Weekly Update for August - week 1

8/4/2020

As of today (August 4, 2020), New England Wine Academy has updated all course descriptions and schedules for the remainder of the 2020 calendar year, and beyond. Please refer to the "Classes" tab above for full descriptions, or click on "Shop" to go directly to the class list.

The 2020/2021 WSET Academic year has begun as of August 1, and we are pleased to announce additional classes have been added to meet the demand for so many looking to take the various award qualifications.

Levels 1 and 2 in spirits have quickly becomes some of the most in-demand courses with WSET, as there is a huge interest among the drinks industry as well as non-industry enthusiasts. We do know that cocktails are in full swing among younger drinkers as well as favorites of older audiences, so this makes complete sense. Take a look at the courses available from NEWA for Spirits certification and carer growth through better knowledge.

This past July, WSET began to make exams available for students of the Level 1 and 2 awards, as remote invigilation. This means that you can opt for exams either in our testing center or in the privacy of your home. In the era of Covid, this has proven to be very popular as many people simply are not ready or able to venture out in to public. The remote exam option is the way to go.

Any current candidate can choose the exam date that works for them, but please note the registration deadlines to participate in an exam. WSET requires 15 business days notice for all exam registrations, so it is not possible to be scheduled once the exam registration date has passed and the candidate will need to wait until the next exam date (these are generally held monthly, pending need).

Candidates should make their exam date intention clear to NEWA by emailing:
BMitchell@newenglandwineacademy.com prior to the exam registration deadline.

As a reminder all online material is available to access for one year from the start of your class, and as always, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to NEWA and we will be happy to discuss. Cheers
